Last month, we did a live showing you our patio pick me up! We love having an outdoor space to enjoy beautiful summer nights. The outdoor space has been around for over 25 years, and needed a facelift. So of course, we brought Des in to help us!
To start, we went through the furniture we had and added some paint! Des created a cozy little outdoor eating area. Instead of buying a new table, we brought out one that Lizi's husband refinished. We paired it with some medal chairs that we already had. It is all about getting creative to make a space you love.
You may think we are crazy for placing a wood table outdoors. But don't worry, we pretreated everything. When winter arrives, we will bring the furniture indoors. But it works great on the patio during the warm months!
Also, if you don't like what you have, then change the color. You don't have to spend an arm and a leg! We decided to paint some brown wicker chairs a beautiful soft blue. It completely transformed our outdoor space. It is so cozy!
Moving on to our sunroom, we had no idea what to do here! There was a large fire pit in the center of the room that was throwing us off. It was expensive and hard to part with, but Des inspired us!
We purchased some beautiful chairs, a small coffee table, and some planters. Des found us some incredible Moroccan cactus silk pillows that add so much to the space. We are so happy with the room!
For the floors in the screen room, we decided to add a little paint. They are a treated redwood painted white. The results are fabulous!

- What we used to pretreat the furniture: Olympic water guard clear multi surface waterproofer and Clear gloss spar varnish coating. This makes it so you don't have to spend a ton of money on outdoor specific furniture.
- Floor paint color: Cotton Gray by Flammont
- Sunriver: We love this place! If you are local, you have to check them out. This is where we purchased the chairs, coffee table, and lights in the screen room/outdoor area.

We love having an outdoor space that speaks to us! You don't have to spend much money to transform an area. Make your home a place you love!
