½ cup butter
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons Yellow Mustard
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire
½ teaspoon onion powder
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Butter a 9x13 pan.
Pull the Kamut or Hawaiian rolls apart and cut in half. Place the rolls in the greased pan close together (make sure they are touching). Set aside.
Next in a frying pan, brown ground beef with 1 Tablespoon olive oil. Use a paper towel to dab off and absorb any excess grease from the beef.
Next add to the browned ground beef, chopped onion, the taco seasoning, cumin, sea salt and garlic. Sauté until fragrant and the onion is translucent.
Then add in the salsa verde, red salsa and 1 ½ cups of shredded cheese. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
Spread the meat over cut rolls, then sprinkle on remaining 1 ½ cups shredded cheese and then top with roll tops.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Once the butter is melted add the brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire, and onion powder. Bring that to a boil. Remove from heat.
Brush the tops of each sandwich generously, and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until light brown.
Serve right out of the oven. Serve toppings on the side like guacamole, sour cream, shredded lettuce, olives and more salsa. ENJOY!
