In Case You Missed It... May 6th-May 12th

In Case You Missed It... May 6th-May 12th

We hope you all had a wonderful week, and especially an amazing Mother Day! We know we sure did!

Tuesday's Live

We started off the week with a fun live with Aimee! Food Nanny Sr. was in France, but the show must go on. We love any excuse to let you guys into our lives and show you more of our family!

In honor of Mother Day, we decided to show you how to make our unbelievable Almond Cake. Every time we have served this, people have absolutely died over it. It is simple as can be and delicious. Everyone can make it!

And once we started making the cake with Kamut, it took it to the next level! Make sure and check out our pickup locations or order Kamut online if you haven't tried it yet. We all use flour, so why not upgrade in nutrition and taste?

Food Nanny Sr. in France

For most of the week, Food Nanny Sr. was in France once again! Can you tell we love it? Mostly we want to make sure our Fannie trip this summer is absolutely perfect!

Every time we go to Paris we find new places to eat. We have favorites we always go back to as well. Here are a few of our favorite pics this time.

We love our crepe place La Droguerie, 56 Du Marais. You have to try this place for the ham and cheese crepe. He uses Gruyere cheese with the ham and puts salt and pepper on it. Sounds simple, right? Honestly, it’s the best savory crepe I have ever eaten.

We love to eat at Les Deux Magots. We try and eat there every time we go to Paris. It’s a very Persian café. Love the service. Men are in white with black aprons. It is so cozy. Tiny tables, white linen if you’re having dinner with deliciously served food ! I think it’s one of the best price points in Paris as well. Medium priced. We had the Sea Bass which we love!!!

A new favorite is the Presto Fresco. Love there Pizza and Pasta. We had the Burreta with Mozarella. We also tried the Lemon Ravioli…Divine. This place is a must! Love how cozy and warm this place was. The décor is wonderful. Don’t miss it ! It is actually a chain…there are a few of them around Paris…Go to this one: 14 Rue Montmartre 75001 Paris.

And then go eat at the top of the Ciel De Paris. Go to the 56 floor and take in the view! Even if you order just a Coke and a snack in the lounge it is worth going to. Take a little rest here like we did. It’s delightful. 33, avenue du Maine Tour Maine Montparnasse. Don’t miss this place!!

Finally, don't forget about Meert. You have to try their Belgium waffles. You can find them all over Paris. They are famous for their thin waffles. They are also cold instead of the typical way waffles as served. The waffles are served with homemade buttercream that is unbelievably delicious. Try the vanilla or the pistachio. It is a must!

Thursday

On Thursday night, we went to a little party at Courtney's home from Cakebycourtney. She gave us all a little cake lesson and had the most delicious food spread.

It was so fun getting to know some other influencers better! We brought our insane Beer Bread with strawberry butter. We dream about this bread if we go too long between making it!

Friday

Holy cow did we have a crazy day on Friday! We started off the day on Good Things Utah. We love doing TV segments! It is such a blast. We talked about all the things going on with us over on Instagram. We love sharing our love for Kamut and French Salt.

We shared the recipe of our Crazy Good Fruit Tart. If you haven't tried this dessert yet, you are seriously missing out. It's unreal, especially in the summer time. To make it, you need a tart pan. We love this one! Bring this dessert to your next dinner. Have fun with how you arrange the fruit. It is so fun and easy! You can catch our segment here if you happened to miss it!

Then we decided to do a spontaneous Live Q and A with you guys! We love just chatting with you and sharing what we love. We are so passionate about what we do and the messages we want to get out there!

We want you to know how important dinner time is for your family. But we also want you to have confidence in yourself. Don't waste your days obsessing over every calorie you eat. We preach portion control, and we live by it everyday!

And we have gotten so many questions about our favorite lip colors! You guys have to give these a try! Its Revlon Colorstay Overtime. We love infinite raspberry, unlimited mulberry, and boundless nude. We have tried so many different colors, many much more expensive, and this is far and away our favorite. Treat yourself to a color or two!

Meal Plan:

Heres what we are cooking this week!

Monday: Carot Potato Soup with Ginger

Tuesday: Zitti with Arugula, Pesto, and Sausage

Wednesday: Broccoli and Swiss/Cheddar Frittata

Thursday: Carne Asada Tacos

Friday: Authentic Margherita Pizza

Saturday: Roast Salmon with Tarragon

Sunday: BBQ Beef Sandwiches

In Case You Missed It... April 29th-May 5th

In Case You Missed It... April 29th-May 5th

We hope you all had a wonderful week! Did you make one of our delicious Mexican dishes for Cinco de Mayo? If so, send us your pictures! We love to see you making the meals we love so much.

Traegar and Staub Event

The week started with an incredible event put on by Traeger and Staub. If you have followed us for a while, you know our obsession with Staub! We have been fans for over 30 years. Pretty sure we now love them more than ever! It was such a privilege to get invited to such an amazing event.

You can't really get a better combination than Traeger and Staub. We cannot tell you how unbelievable the food was! It was honestly insane. Everything was made on the Traeger. Did you know that everything you make in your oven can be made on the Traeger? The smoke gives everything such an amazing flavor. We can't wait to get cooking with Traeger soon!

Tuesdays Live

It always feels so good to do a live after being gone for a few days! We start to miss you guys! If you missed it, you can watch it here. So for Tuesdays live, we decided to talk about Nachos. Who doesn't love some good nachos? We started off showing you an extremely easy meatless version. It uses things you most likely already have in your pantry and takes minutes to execute. There's really no excuse to not getting dinner on the table with recipes as easy as this!

Next, we showed you how to make our new Food Nanny Steak nachos. I would put these up against any other nachos out there. The combination of the steak and cheese sauce make them out of this world! This is a great way to use some of your leftover steak from grill night. We will be craving these Steak nachos till we make them again!

Draper Stake Event

To make this week even better, we had the privilege of speaking at an event with the Draper stake. We met so many wonderful Fannies and loved every second! Lizi was able to share some more about portion control and counting calories. As women, we have too much to offer the world to worry about every bite of food you eat! Don't worry, you will hear a lot more about this!

Fridays Live

We finished off the week with a live at our friend Cami's home! It was such a pleasure! Check her out on instagram @camitiffin. It was only fitting that we made the best Pina Coladas because we got this recipe from her mom! The Coco Lopez brand of cream of coconut is a game changer. You will not find better!

While sipping our drinks, Cami showed us around her incredible home. You guys, she has worked wonders! They moved into their home six year ago and have slowly been remodeling it ever since. Cami talks about how they have been able to make their home look incredible on a budget. Go give her a follow, she is a wealth of knowledge! We finished up at Cami's house and then headed over to Aimee's chicken coop. Isn't it so dreamy?

Thanks for joining us for another week! As always, follow along and cook with us this next week! Here is what's on our menu:

Monday: Chicken Rice Casserole with Almonds

Tuesday: Lasagna Soup

Wednesday: Blueberry Pancakes

Thursday: Mexican Chicken and Rice

Friday: Pizza with Mushrooms or Potatoes

Saturday: BBQ Apricot Chicken Thighs

Sunday: Rosemary Lamb Chops

xoxo!

In Case You Missed It.... April 22nd-April 28th

In Case You Missed It.... April 22nd-April 28th

We had another great week around here! When you focus your life around family and what really matters, it is hard to not find the good in your life.

Tuesdays Live

To start off the week, we had another fun live on Tuesday. We have been asked over and over again for easy dinner ideas to bring to people. So we decided to show you our Italian Peasant Soup. It is delicious and easy to make a big batch of! Pair it with our Kamut bread, and you have the perfect meal! We love to bring this to people after they have a baby!

Thursdays Live

We didn't get to talk enough about Kamut on Tuesday, so we decided to do an entire live on our Whole Wheat Kamut bread!

We don't use the Kamut berries for everything, but it makes unbelievable bread. It is organic and chalk full of protein and vitamins. It is the best wheat we have ever tried! And there is something about grinding your own wheat that makes you feel like a real cook.

If you were able to join the live, we showed you how to work a wheat grinder. It makes such fresh flour. We love feeding our families the best, healthiest bread around.

Many of you have been asking about the difference between the berries and our white Kamut that we use everyday. We do NOT like the berries in everything. It is a dense wheat that just doesn't work in sweets for us. But in bread, it is unreal!

The white wheat has completely replaced all purpose flour for us. We definitely use the white Kamut more, but we love them both for different things.

Have we mentioned how much we love the Danish dough hook? We mix everything with it, and it has honestly changed our life! We very rarely use our Kitchen Aid or Bosch now. Its one less thing to clean, and it is easier to get the perfect consistency of the bread.

Florida

This week was made extra special with our trip to Florida! Ginger brought us out for an amazing event she put together. It was such a pleasure! She made our day by being a huge fan. We just love her!

We had a little bit of downtime before the event, so of course we made our way to the beach! It just brings us life! We had the most incredible meal at Sand on the Beach. Its a meal we will be dreaming about for months! The fish was so fresh, and the combination of the ingredients was out of this world. We loved the meal so much we went back for round two!

Ginger made so many of our recipes, and they were insane! People drove hours to come! We are just so thankful and love our Florida Fannies.

Weekly Finds

This week for our "weekly finds" we have these amazing items from Target.

Can there be anything more French? These dishes look and feel expensive, we can't believe they are from Target! The bowl is perfect for serving, mixing, anything! And we keep picturing flowers or lavender coming out of the vase. You can't go wrong with either!

In Case You Missed It... April 15th-April 21st

What a wonderful week! We had such a blast talking about Easter with you guys and celebrating with our family. We love any occasion that brings family together, especially sitting around the dinner table.

Kamut Pickup

We have more pickup locations opening in the next couple weeks! And of course, keep stopping by our Warehouse. We can't say enough how much we love cooking with Kamut.

If you haven't tried it yet, check out our pickup locations and grab some! And for those of you that don't live near the warehouse or a pickup spot, you can always order online.

Tuesdays Live

To start the week off, we had an amazing live on Tuesday! We showed you some last minute Easter ideas. We showed you how to make Swiss Buttercream and carrot cookies!

We absolutely LOVE the buttercream recipe that we typically make with our chocolate cupcakes. But we have been having some fun playing around with different buttercreams, and this Swiss variation does not disappoint!

It is a little bit of a labor of love, and may seem a little intimidating! It does take more time and is a little more temperamental, but it is worth it. Food Nanny Sr. prefers this over any buttercream she has ever tried! So you have to give this a try if you are a buttercream fan like us.

We made these cupcakes special for Easter with some amazing cupcake liners. We found these at Homegoods, so make sure and check them out! We also decorated with some coconut and cadbury eggs for the perfect touch.

For a second option, we showed you how to make our delicious Kamut carrot cookies. They are perfect for all Spring long! They take a little bit of time since you have to boil the carrots down. But this makes them feel extra special! The fresh orange frosting takes these to the next level.

Studio 5

On Wednesday, Lizi (Jr. Food Nanny) made another appearance on Studio 5! She made our cheesy scalloped potatoes with ham and corn casserole that the whole family loves. It's Easter dinner all in one!

It is always such an honor to be invited on the show. And of course we had a blast talking about our beloved Kamut. Click here to watch the segment in case you missed it!

Fridays Live

And finally, we gave you some fun ideas for an Easter picnic on Friday. With the perfect weather this time of year, we just want to enjoy the sunshine! And the perfect way to do this is at a family picnic.

We showed you how to make some amazing sandwiches on our french baguettes. To make the perfect size, use mini baguette pans! They are the same length as traditional, but much skinnier. Here are so scrumptious ideas for different sandwiches:

  • Tuna: We love a good tuna sandwich! Just add mayo, mustard, dill, and salt and pepper. Tastes delicious every time.
  • Egg Salad: Perfect for Easter! We showed you a little tip of shredding your eggs with the cheese grader. This makes life so easy!
  • Prosciutto, swiss, and butter. Thats all you need to make an amazing sandwich.
  • Fresh mozzarella with tomatoes and fresh basil. Make sure and cut all you ingredients nice and thin. This makes such a light and refreshing sandwich!
  • Turkey or ham and cheese: Add some jalapeño jam to take this traditional sandwich up a notch! So tasty, and something the whole family can enjoy!

Make a variety of sandwiches and let everyone have a little bit of each! It is very easy to pull off, but still feels fun and special.

And don't forget about your sides! Bring along some fruit, a yummy dessert (like our carrot cookies), a fun drink, and a little cheese board.

For our cheese board, we brought a couple different cheeses, our jalapeño jam, olives, and crackers. I don't know what it is about a good cheese board, but it just makes us feel fancy! I have yet to be disappoint with a meal that starts with this!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter spending time with those you love. We know we sure did! And for those of you cooking along side us this next week, here is what we will be making:

Meal Plan

Monday: Beef Stroganoff

Tuesday: Italian Peasant Soup

Wednesday: Tuna Noodle Casserole with Sour Cream Sauce

Thursday: Chicken Taquitos

Friday: Choose a Flavor Pizza

Saturday: The Wedge with Homemade Blue Cheese Dressing

Sunday: Crock Pot Turkey Breast
